I realize this may be an annoyance, but it could be important. In Microsoft Small Basic, a simplified version of Visual Basic, the extension is also .sb. You could allow support for .sb, just make it not the default.

I think it should be the old .scratch file-type-name again, that was a unique, even if long, filetype.
If someone's been on Small Basic and then goes on Scratch, they may be confused and think a Small Basic project is a Scratch project.

A Google search says it stands for Signed Byte Audio File, but that's probably another usage.
