Too large of a file :(

I have a GIF that I LOVE but it is too large of a file  sad  is there a way to compress that file into a smaller one???

Is it an animated GIF?
If it isn't then you can convert it to a JPEG and compress it without losing much quality (use a graphics editor).
If it is animated, then I don't know how to compress it.

Some browsers show APNGs as a still image though.
