Because they are a lot less frequent, and media reflects that, with them being less frequent there as well.

Same with Jesus, he wasn't bi.
That's not what they mean by "love"

I think Jesus was asexual in the sense he never got married, had children, or you know.

Well, yes, but I don't think Jesus had the chance to, in his short life.

I think it was more of a purity thing. He was like 33-34 during his preaching and before his death right?

And his life isn't short.

Why should it matter what the cause is?

It makes a huge difference.  If it were proven that being homosexual were a choice, then it could become legal to discriminate and use hate-speech against homosexuals.  All those churches saying it is a sin and that homosexuals are condemned to hell could be considered right (if you believe what religions tell you).

If, however, it is part of our nature, like gender or skin colour, then discriminating against homosexual individuals or using hate speech against them can be made illegal.

The religious institutions that have influence law for so long almost universally favour the former, which is why LBGT folks are still discriminated against in certain areas of law, such as legal marriage.  However, fortunately, slowly but surely these things are being changed.

Vis Jesus, we have no idea of whether he was married or not, really, as the only information we have about him is what is written in the bible which tells us pretty much nothing about his personal life.

An interesting point to consider is that Jewish teachers at the time - which is what he was - were required to be married and some have speculated that the wedding at caana was actually his own.

Please don't turn this into a religious discussion - they are no longer permitted in the forums.

I take issue with your implication that in order to make something illegal requires that it be proven to be part of our nature and not our free choice.  Laws have been passed that make discrimination because of religious or political affiliation a crime (see article on Hate Crimes in Wikipedia).  I think most people would agree that those affiliations are a choice rather than a genetic characteristic.

And I thought he preached for, like, 3 years?

Sorry if I sound either dumb or rude by saying this, but what do you mean by "lesbian-leaning"? You're not completely lesbian?

Um, I have watched a lot of Spongebob.  I just don't see how he's gay.  He simply thinks mistakenly that Squidward is one of his best friends.

Re: Discussion of LGBT

I'm pretty sure I'm lesbian  hmm
I've never had any interest whatsoever in boys,
like girls,
and find it hard to relate to other girls finding boys cute.

And all the evidence from when I was younger points to lesbian. (I never had a 'boyfriend' in kindergarten, I hated playing with dolls, etc)

What do you guys think?  hmm

This is a temporary signature. It will exist until I think of something witty.
