There is no competition, iPad smokes an Android 100% of the time.

Androids are just pathetic remakes of what Steve Jobs did best, create an affordable, easy to use, powerful and creative tablet computer.

iPads are too locked down for my (and many geek's) tastes, just like their smaller siblings.

Android and iOS are for totally different things, anyway. Android is for people that actually want control over their device, and iOS is for people who don't mind renting a device (or as I call them, shiny toys) from Apple (because that is basically what you are doing, you can't do or change anything about them without jailbreaking!)

Back on topic, this is about what you got (or are getting) for Christmas, not iOS versus Android.

So you want a tablet that has nothing but allows you to make things and deal with the unrestricted android market. That doesn't make any sense.
