Well, if it's a fairly easy workaround (and rather limited uses for the new feature) I can see where Harakou may think this idea isn't necessary. However, I don't believe they said they disliked the idea, just that it isn't worth the effort.

It's quite a simple workaround, really.

but with invisible material sensing, you could stamp materials. now that would be helpful!

This is a really good idea, and I support, but I think that new scratchers might have a hard time grasping the concept...  hmm

I think it might be good, but it would be too much trouble for the Scratch Team. Also new scratchers would probably have trouble with it. Also, color sensing or sensing sprites isn't hard at all. Good idea though! It'd be easier than color sensing or sensing sprites, and it would help 1s1s games. big_smile

I support! Whenever I hide a sprite and use it for speech bubble purposes (the character I want to talk is in the background) it won't show because the sprite is hiding, so I just set the ghost effect to 99%. But I 100% support!  big_smile

I agree with others - it would be a bit of a waste of time to make to make that feature, as it can easily be worked around, and there's probably more important things to work on at the moment.
Plus, I fear that's getting a bit too complicated, as Scratch is supposed to be for all ages.

Well, I support. However, the only problem with this is that it would be had for the Scratch Team to explain so younger scratchers could understand. But, I like this idea!

this seems like a good idea, but could get complicated. Who said colors had to look ugly? Color sensing is another costume on the sprite. The game switches to it, makes adjustments and switches back to original so fast you can't see it happen...

That's not how color sensing works. Scratch is not fast enough to let sprites switch costume fast enough for you not to be able to see. The truth of the matter is, color sensing is ugly right now.
