I love how people think they are so smart with books just because they know Tolkien. Fantasy was a growing fad in RPGs (actually they were pretty much the first RPGs.) Tolkien was one of many who translated all of the creatures and culture into book form, but one of few who became a legend off of it.
And also: Are you saying every fantasy book ever written is a copy of the Hobbit?
