upon a time of war,
thunder strikes overhead,
sending tears from the heavens,
crushing our soldiers.
they don't reframe,
nor rethink,
they track on,
they know what they are fighting for,
their home.

when home fails,
and misery and mercy seem the same,
they fallback,
on their knees to the heavens,
though they know what they have done wrong,
they beg,
god forgives,
but never forgets.
