As it says on the community moderators page, we only hold elections when we feel like there's a need for more community moderators. At this time, we feel like we have enough active mods even though two have recently retired. So there will be no elections during this period.

Ohright. ^^
It'll be interesting to see how the Moderation Team gets on with 2 less members than normal...

That's really unfortunate. I was looking foward to it.
I even asked the mods.

So there might be one at around mid 2012?

Will the age limit still be 13 or will it be 14 in march?
It will probably stay at 13.

In that case, I'll have to look into moderation duties, if the next is in March.

Hey, I'll be able to do it then! >:D
..Not
I will be able to, but I know I wouldn't win.

It was 14 when I joined. There was an election then too, and everyone was complaining about it. I didn't have to worry because I was 18 at the time.

Yay, I can run if I want to (I still am not sure)

I could run for mod then, but I seriously doubt that it'll happen. Hey, it's possible though. I just don't know if it's even worth bothering though.

On the moderator page, it says you must have your parent's permission. I'm 19 years old, so does that still apply?
I would think not, since most people say that you are officially an adult once you reach age 18.

Since to moderators are still minors, it is be more difficult to find a person who will be
suitable.

This is regarded remain aggreable, as there has been history over the years of the internets life, where errors and flaws have been inserted into a system where teenage
moderators have in a large number, made light of their position, or picked
innappriopate decisions.

Which is one reason why we usually do elections in the first place. There are also those who are at MIT that can moderate as well. I don't think this should be a large problem.

This brings up an excellent opportunity to discuss the TBG Moderators. If I recall correctly, the original purpose of the moderator elections instead of the Scratch Team just picking moderators was so that it would be 'fair to everyone' and 'everyone would have a chance to run'. Later on, we added the 14+ rule (now 13+?) (also the TBG elections weren't affected by the 14+ rule though so it doesn't matter). The TBG moderators have a fun and easy position and have had it for over 2 years now. I think it's time to give someone else a turn. At least for the longer serving TBG moderators.
