Re: Pennsylvania Scratch Meetup

Oh and then I can't help because I'm only twelve. But does anyone know how long a ride to Jenkingtown would be from Yardley?

Dear Scratch Users,
I'm done with scratch, or at least making projects. I have made one last big game, thats both fun and teaches a lesson about water. It'd mean a lot if you gave me feedback.                              http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/bosox397/569201

Re: Pennsylvania Scratch Meetup

I don't mean go alone to NY. But if there was a Scratch Day event in Montreal (2 hours away I think), my parents would drive me there. But I guess there is one near Philly, so you guys don't need to go to NY if you really wanted. Just a suggestion.

Re: Pennsylvania Scratch Meetup

Okay, we are hoping to post a registration link the first week of April.  Please register if you are coming because we are hoping to have lunch brought in.  So far we have a lot of student excitement but not as much teacher participation as I would like to see. If you are using this at school please let me know, and maybe I can contact teachers directly.  If not, maybe we could see about getting this more in front of teachers.

I would never drive 2 HOURS for something for scratch, mostly because my parents my never let me. Probably the farthest would be 45 minutes

My parents are letting me drive(Not me driving though =p) 2 hours to visit the Norfolk State University Scratch Day. NSUSD for short. I think your parents are being a bit unreasonable.

Re: Pennsylvania Scratch Meetup

We are beginning to advertise our Scratch Day!  If you would like me to send the information directly to your school, let me know what district you are in and I will send a flyer and evite to your Tech Director as well as principals.  We have one school that is organizing a bus to come. We are still hoping to get teachers so we can share what a valuable classroom tool this can be.  Also we are including parents, so feel free to bring your mom or dad.

Re: Pennsylvania Scratch Meetup

Here are the particulars for Scratch Day Pennsylvania so far:
May 16th
9:00 - 3:00
Abington Friends School
575 Washington Lane
Jenkintown PA
contact: mpodulka@abingtonfriends.net
Please let us know if you are a beginner or more advanced user and if you need to borrow a laptop.
So far we have about ten teachers signed up but no students or parents.
I have sent information to the followiong school districts:
Upper Dublin
Springfield
Pennsbury
Jenkintown
Abington
In addition I have sent the information to several area independent schools as well as to teachers that I have worked with.  I have also sent it to a PTA and a Home and School.  If there is a contact person in a school who is an adult that you feel would benefit from this, please have them e-mail me and I will forward the information.
If you are planning to attend you need to register by e-mailing me at the above address. This same e-mail is posted under the events section of this site. Finally,
we still have no student lead sessions and would really like to put some together so if you have an idea and would like to to give it a try let me know.
