Ok. Today I uploaded some sounds again and sorted them in ordners. What do you think about them? Do we need more? Please check them out in our dropbox.

I think that is good enough for now, we should worry about sounds last though.  (We can add them after we are done with the game)

Ok. I can do the space docking only. Thrystor can do the shop.

I wasn't saying I'd do all three... Oh, you mean the whole space-engine thing? The thing is, the more projects we have, the harder it will be to combine them. The other reason I'd want to do that is that I've already made a scrolling space game with a map of the star cluster (which includes your location and the locations of the stars) with four solar systems. I don't know if that's the kind of engine you're looking for though. I haven't played the game yet.

Re: Team Earth

OK, I downloaded DOSbox and the game, but when I started it up it asked for a bunch of weird settings. Afterwards, it told me to insert the disk. I had to use the task manager to get out of it. So I still haven't played Elite.

Didn't somebody else want to do the shop too though? I could be wrong. Maybe I can make the shop. I'd need to know exactly what kind of merchandise to sell though.

Lots and lots of different types of placeholders. We can replace then later.

I think we should use the space-engine as a base. Anyone agree?

I agree. The space engine is one of the most important parts.

Re: Team Earth

How many planets are we making? Because there's a pretty easy way to make all of them in one sprite (planet type can be incorporated into this too), but it only works well with a few planets unless we use turbo mode. Turbo mode wouldn't make the rest of the game complicated if we designed the whole thing to run in turbo, which we may have to do anyways. It seems that we will need to use a lot of lists for this game, and lists tend to slow games down.

Re: Team Earth

Ok guys, we have been planning for a while now, but we NEED to start to get things moving. Just because we don't have deadline means we can lounge around. The radar is almost  done, and will be uploaded this weekend. I want everyone who took the responsibility of doing  a part of the game to finish it by WEDNESDAY of next week. Also, I believe that we should have a first draft ready in two weeks.

Re: Team Earth

I'm kind of confused... So I am doing the shop? And I need the dropbox password... again. I can't put anything in dropbox on Wednesday unless I can get onto it. Also, making the shop is kind of hard to coordinate with the planet types unless I know how planet types are going to work. I was thinking we could use lists for that.

Re: Team Earth

I would like to play the actual game, but it glitched when I downloaded. Is there any other place to get it where it might actually work? Or do I have to use certain graphics and sound settings?

Yeah your're doing the shop (if it is the one that you picked) Don't worry about the details, we can improve it later. All we need by Wednesday is a version 1.0.  For the password, tell me a way to get the password to you, WITHOUT you keep losing it, seeing as dropbox isn't working for you.

You can use mailinator, I just messed up and deleted it right away the first time. I'll go and find the address in a moment.

I still need Thrystor's space base. I know how I'm going to do it though!
