Cheddargirl is a moderator.
So? Not all the mods can go to Scratch Day.
Also, link?
-_-*
Wouldn’t you think that a moderator would know about a released version of Scratch?
Here’s a link.

maybe she was trying to create a secret. I wanted to go this year, i even begged my parents. They said no, and I had the money ready aswell. Its just so unfair
No secrets.
From what I understand, the Scratch Team gave a viewing sneak peak of Scratch 2.0, but never gave any form of a Scratch 2.0 pre-release. The Scratch 2.0 talk page states this already when someone edited the Wiki saying that there was a beta release of the program:

Sorry for the months delay :p I removed the info because just because it wasn't right, not because you aren't allowed to spread the info in gereral. There was/is no beta testing program, there was/is no beta version of Scratch 2.0.

I don't know the details about the removal but I know there is NO beta version of Scratch 2.0 and hence there is also NO beta testing list for Scratch 2.0. I saw a bunch of people sent emails to help@scratch asking to be added to "the list" but there is no such list so it just becomes a waste of time. I think it is important that the Wiki does not spread erroneous information that wastes people's time.--
Where is the world is everyone getting this pre-release thing from?

Ok, to clear up what happened, is there was a pre-alpha test at scratch-day 2011 (modding area). We were told not to give it out, because they thought it would look too "Un-professional", so I'm not at a liability to share it (though I have a working version on my website), however, I can indeed say that there was a pre-alpha. There was also few images we were shown at the end of scratch day.
Also, cheddar, if you look at those quotes, they were from 2010, it happened in 2011.
EDIT: 2200 post

Alright, I'll ask the other members of the Scratch Team about it.
Never really heard of it being distributed, though, other than sneak peeks of the images as stated on the Wiki article.

It was in the modding area, there were a few people there, lucario for one, I can't remember who else.
Check out:
I just made it, it's an example of functions.
And for all of you who think this is fake, I could make a video, it would just be really annoying to do.

Actually, I would love to see a video of it in action.
If there is some kind of pre-release, then I find it kind of surprising the Community Moderators didn't get it. Community Mods tested the Experimental Viewer long before it was released to the public, why not the pre-release of 2.0?.

It was just one of the developer builds. I"m not sure why they didn't decide to share it with you. Video

The comment boxes turn into this
----------------------------------------------
What happens when you have a lot of sprites.
---------------------------------------------
2.0 will use them camera with the background somehow

New pen block

BTW, cheddar, why does your title say "Scratch Team" instead of "Community Moderator"?

Probably because she's part of the Scratch Team.

She wasn't elected, she was appointed
And she became Scratch Team to use the tools on the site

In August, I was given some admin functions to help out moderation on the main site. The title change came with it.

Gotz it.
It's not the best video.
I only messed around with functions and clones, because those are the only things I know are gonna happen in scratch 2.0. There is also zooming (those buttons in the bottom right corner), stamp transparent, and I imagine there are some other things I haven't experienced with. There also wasn't a image editor in it yet.
