Interfacing to PicoCricket and Lego Mindstorm?

Hi there,
just got started with Scratch. Seems like a lot of fun. Could we extend the fun with interfaces to the real world? My candidates would be the Picocricket (see http://www.picocricket.com/ ) and Lego MindStorm (see http://mindstorms.lego.com/). Do you plan to have an API to extend Scratch, so we could add that stuff?

Hi stw,

If you check out this URL:
http://scratch.mit.edu/pages/scratchboard
you can learn about one way that Scratch can interface with the real world.

The scratchboard is nice, but it is *input only*.  Interacting with the real world requires outputs as well.  I understand that controlling lego motors requires a 9v power supply, so can't be done directly off the USB pwer, the way the scratch board sensors are.  Adding a wall wart or battery pack would be worth it!

I agree. And maybe also and an mini memory for storeing projects would be helpful too.
