Stone Clan

Well, I’ve wanted to do an animated series for scratch for a long time. But I haven't gotten the time. Now I have a general story line, well at least for the first episode. I'm debating weather to use blender to make the sprites and animation or to hand draw them in scratch, I’m leaning more towards blender because of its animation capabilities...well here is what I have so far:

In the rocks and crags of the eastern mountain, their lived an isolated clan. In the recent years, very few kittens where born, sparking the fear of annihilation in the Stone clan. Even in the darkest hours, a hope remained. One kitten was born to Moonwind and his wife Blueriver. Being the only kitten to be born in many years, he was one of the youngest of the stone clan, yet neither the strongest nor the weakest.

As time passed on, he grew older. Even though many others had become valiant warriors or determined workers, he remained a simple young cat. Even so, his contentment astounded the others in the clan.

Just as any other child, though, he laughed, he played, but most of all, his curiosity knew no bounds. Although some others in his clan obliged his longing for a playmate, a void still remained. FreeStone partially filled this void by incessantly pursuing what ever and where ever his curiosity led him to.

As the years rolled by, Freestone discovered many things about the world around him through these persist of knowledge. Some scoffed at his findings, while other lauded him. Even as his knowledge increased, other more sinister thing grew as well.

Unfortunately, as those same years come and passed, tension grew within the stone clan, and with it come apprehension. These two things grew upon each other until finally, a young group of warriors separated themselves from the rest of the clan and called themselves "the Shadow wings."

For, a few years, the shadow wings remained withdrawn, but as time passed and as they grew in strength and numbers, they became increasingly aggressive. Eventually, total war broke out.

Anticipating the danger, Freestone's parents sent him farther up the mountain. From there, Freestone discovered that he could observe the happenings below him, but stay safely out of range and out of sight. Soon his precipice would serve its purpose.

As the war raged on, Freestone saw many of his closest friends bleed and die of mortal wounds and horrible sickness as the slaughter continued and its intensity increased. Many times, Freestone could not escape the agonized screams of the wounded and the guttural cries of the shadow wings. Even though he was a simple young cat, and usually quite optimistic, grimness began to creep in as the horrors of war hardened him.

Even amongst the bloodshed and violence, Freestone sill preserved much of his innocent continence and childlike optimism. Mostly, he could simply ignor the havoc and destruction that was being wreaked below. He still enjoyed life, and his curiosity never faltered, almost to a fault.

On one particularly grim day, Freestone had returned from yet another pursuit of knowledge. What he did not know, was lurking in the rocks nearby, it’s red eyes filled with a sadistic mixture of hatred and delight as it anticipated an easy catch. As Freestone began to lie down, the vile creature pounced! Freestone realized almost too late what was happening, and escaped by a hair’s breath. His safety was fleeting, soon he discovered that he was trapped between the sheer edges of the cliff, and a drooling beast. Facing either death by impact,or death by a shadow wing, Freestone froze with fear. As his assailant, crept forward, Freestone edged backward. Slowly, slowly, this happened, until Freestone, so filled with fear of apprehension, took one step to far and began to plummet towards the ground.

As Freestone fell, he was almost sure of death until...RIP! He was nearly impaled by a protruding branch. One lonely branch, ten feet off the ground. Unfortunately, Freestone’s momentum slung him off of the branch and onto the raging battlefield. The course of his life would never be the same again.

Up close, the battle was much different. Even in his semiconscious state, Freestone could still fully comprehend the desperate horror of the violence. As he slowly regained consciousness, he saw two cats, deadlocked in a life and death struggle, slowly nearing him. Seeing his fellow clan mate in so much agony and duress drove daggers through the very core of him. He stood frozen in indecision. Even though he knew nothing of battle, he could recognize that his friend would surely die if he did not quickly strike this foul adversary, yet he also feared, not only for his life, but also for something else he could not explain. At that instant of indecision, he noticed a gleam on his chest. It was the medallion that all of the Stone Clan wore. As he looked at it, he thought of what it stood for, of what it meant. At that moment, he knew what the price of freedom was.

Rage that he had never known suddenly welled up inside him. With a cry of wrath and desperation, he leapt from his place of hiding and slew his foe, but also collided with the nearby cliff. As consciousness slipped away he realized that he had lost something very precious, he was no longer the simple cat he had once been...

Re: Stone Clan

its about as long as a fairly good paper.

Pages                           2

Characters(no spaces)   4,381
Characters(with spaces) 5,280
Paragraphs                   14
Lines                           76
---

Re: Stone Clan

I love the story line! I think you should use blender for the animating because i think it would be quicker.  cool

Re: Stone Clan

thank you   smile

yes and no. once I got the mesh done and rig it with armatures, then get the materials and hair done. then I need to animate. For what I get, your right, it will be quicker.
