If one of your friends was online, a little chat button would appear by their names. When you click it, you'd see who they were chatting to and you could join that chat, sending them a join request (which would appear in the chat, so they could choose wether or not to let you join) or if they weren't chatting, it would send them a chat request, so they could choose wether to chat or not.

I think Scratch team said pm (private messaging) wasn't going to be a feature, and this is basicly the same thing, so I don't think this would happen, and it would be hard to moderate. Also, in your sig, you can't post links to websites until they're approved by scratch, sorry - Links to Member-created Websites by Paddle2See

Correct! Chatting and PMing have been ruled out as features because of the difficulty of monitoring them. Sorry.
