Scratch alternative for Teachers

Hi
I'm looking for a game creating tool for teachers. I discovered about scratch some weeks ago, a friend suggested it, but I've found out its more intended for 8-14 year old kids rather than teachers.

Scratch is wonderful, it's what *I* would have wanted when I was I kid (I used basic in a spectrum 48k instead), but I don't think its something I can get teachers to use easilly.

Any ideas?

I suggest using the programming Language, 'Alice'. It has 3D capabilities, and has a wider range of tools.

How about Adobe Flash?

Re: Scratch alternative for Teachers

I was looking for something as simple as scratch, but less programming oriented.
I want them to make games, without ever seeing a line of code, or something remotely similar. Scratch, Alice, Byob are still programming. Flash is too open and complex, I wanted something easier and more "game-making ready".

I want them to make games for class, and children play them, I dont need them to be able to make the next iPhone hit (it would be nice, though  tongue ), as many game maker tools seem to aim.

To sum up, I want something "scratchy"  wink

Re: Scratch alternative for Teachers

I don't mean to go off topic, but Scratch isn't intended specifically to make games, which is why you need to write collider scripts, animations, etc. from scratch (see what I did there? xD).

Anyway:

I think it would help more if you specified what types of games you want to make.  I've seen - though may not be able to "refind" - a program that makes making a platformer fairly simple, but can't, in anyway, be used to make, say, a matching game.  If you want a program that lets you make games without "seeing a line of code" you'll probably have to live with a narrow selection of game types  hmm
