This site

Here are some questions for the Scratch Team: How was this site built? Is the software free? Is all the stuff uploaded here stored on a local server, or somewhere on the net? Would this system support Flash? I am asking because if all of the answers are ones that I am hoping for, I might try and make a flash site based on this. Thanks for letting me know!

Re: This site

Just to clarify: I am asking these questions because I like the hierarchy of this site, and think it would also apply nicely to flash. And yes, I will let you know jasb  tongue

This site was built using free software:
- PHP
- CakePHP
- Apache
- MySQL

Running on two CentOS servers.

The files are stored on the file system of one of the servers.

The servers are hosted on the MIT Media Lab network.

This website currently uses a Java applet to display the projects on-line but a Flash-based player could potentially be implemented.

Re: This site

Awesome! I knew about the PHP MySQL parts, because .php? is in the url of some pages. I will probably not be able to set up my own site, since I do not have servers, or even a network. I am using a single computer............oh well. I will still try to use the PHP MySQL combo with Dreamweaver, especially since they are made to work together. Thanks!!!
