If you don’t know, then why would you post? No one cares if you don’t know.

Don't take offense to this, but why do you always put an asterisk next to your -_- face?
It is because the -_- is your signature emoticon?  lol

It makes it look more annoyed than tired. And the  roll  emoticon doesn’t convey my annoyedness at all.

Just use the Scratch.image file. There’s no installer.

OK...
Edit:I tried Mick's IMAGE collection to get images. Our computers don't have Squeak.

Not actual images.

The file that literally says “Scratch.image” in the very front of the folder. I’m not sure why it’s labeled “.image” because that gets confusing, but on Macs, “.image” files should be openable.

And there’s also no installer if you use MacScratch1.4.dmg. Scratch doesn’t have a Mac installer like it does for Windows. So I STRONGLY suggest using that. If I am wrong (which I highly doubt) and it does have an installer, you can open the file that says “Scratch.image” and it will work.

I know these are Squeak images, but they run in Terminal, which is blocked.

MacScratch1.4.dmg runs in another blocked application.

DMG’s run directly from the computer. So unless they blocked usage of the computers, which would defeat the purpose of having them in the first place, it should run.

If you put Scratch on a USB drive you could do it on School computers so long as there is a USB port.

On a mac? Even with a windows computer at home?,,,,,,,,,,,,

Yeah, just add Scratch for Mac to the USB drive as well. I'm pretty sure USB was invented by Apple...

I'm pretty sure USB was a joint effort by Intel, Compaq, Microsoft, Digital, IBM, and Northern Telecom...  hmm

Re: When will the web client come out?

Well, if you take the Scratch onto your USB (you need to unzip first, or else it wont be accessable) you SHOULD be able to run the .app at school. It also depends on your login properties (at my school running programs not on the school drives wont work, it brings up an error).

I'm back.

Re: When will the web client come out?

Hmm.. You would have to login as one of your teachers then, or suggest to them on getting Windows computers.

Tsk, you shouldn't log in as teachers!  tongue

Anyway, the error above sounds a lot like something to do with mounting dmg's to the virtual disk drive, which is exactly what is done when something is installed on a Mac.

To make sure, bobbysq, are you:
- Installing Scratch at home
- taking the correct files
- putting those files on a USB flash drive
- running Scratch.app at school
?

EDIT
never mind, I ran through the thread and noticed you had a Windows PC at home. Maybe could someone kindly upload their Scratch.app to dropbox so bobby can download it? I don't have Scratch on my Mac, and don't intend to install it...  tongue

That would work except for the fact that it seems to disallow non-approved (not disapproved, non-approved) .app files. (I know because I downloaded the Mac version of the Minecraft launcher and it was disallowed even though I had just downloaded it.)

Hm.

Well... I don’t know what to say.

I guess you’ll have to ask a teacher if you can download it to the computer. There’s no installer, or anything. You just download it, put it in the “Applications” folder, then open it and go!

If your teacher doesn’t give you permission to download it, you probably shouldn’t try to smuggle it through a flash drive.  tongue

But if you don’t care about that, then my last suggestion would be to drag the Scratch folder into the applications folder and see if it works.

Here's what I do in class if that helps:
1. Get laptop
2. Download Scratch if necessary
3. Open forums
4. Try to get Scratch to work,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
