Re: Phoenix Survival [MC Server] [1.0.0!]

Guide to raiding:

Don't touch anything, if something says that it harvests 1000 melons you check the redstone.

Be aware, watch your step, it may be your last.

If the floor changes to stone or planks then be extra aware for touch plates.

Take a stack of dirt with you, set off any wooden plate with dirt then run.

If it looks overly obvious, question it. Why have they got an iron door on a wooden house? Why do they have an iron door if you just open it by touchplate?

Don't ever destroy levers, they could be keeping a redstone torch off on the other side.

If you see a dispenser empty it.

Don't be a moron, if you see TNT then take it, don't detonate it.

Yeah, well Lómaner blew up Mocha's house by not questioning redstone.

I used to grief servers when redstone was first made, I just found the thrill of running around avoiding traps fun, most houses I never actually griefed, I just set off all the traps.

Just remember that redstone needs a trigger, otherwise it's hardly a trap.

Re: Phoenix Survival [MC Server] [1.0.0!]

Qaz, terrible things happened!

I was blown up by a creeper and lost: 2 diamond axes, 1 diamond pickaxe, a diamond shovel, along with other stuff. I would have been able to get it back, but as soon as I died, the server disconnected me and when i rejoined it was all gone.  sad

But there are ways a lot of people don't expect, like a mine tunnel with redstone ORE on the ground.

Ok, PEX is really annoying me. Several plugins don't seem to be compatible with it, prefixes aren't working...

I'd like to get BukkitPerms up soon, at least most plugins support it even if it has annoying commands.

That's under don't touch anything.

Why haven't they mined it? Have they already got enough? Maybe there's a chest with a lot of redstone in?

Re: Phoenix Survival [MC Server] [1.0.0!]

Qaz, someone is really badly griefing my house, I thought it was endermen but it's too organized.

Blocks are randomly disappearing, water blocks were placed near one of my chests, a furnace has been replaced with a plank, 2 empty signs have turned up and there's pink wool above my doorway. And you've also locked me in my own house.

You don't NEED to mine the redstone ore to activate the trap... Duh. There is a redstone circuit that only updates when a block adjacent to it updates. Stepping on the redstone ore would update it, thus causing whatever trap you want to activate.

BTW, the pink wool was me. Don't ask. (Accidental-ish)

And as to your earlier post about name tags, I honestly don't find it that hard to shift all the time.

And if anyone thinks potions are cheap, think about how hard some of them are to get.

Yeah, you've downloaded the pre-release, made some in creative, blah blah, now find a stronghold in the nether, without flyhacks, without dying in lava, without being blown up by a Ghast, find a Blaze spawner, kill some Blaze-thingys, find nether wart, and make it back to your home, safe, without dying from any of the above. Now make a potion, think about how much effort it took. Would you carelessly drink it at any PVP opportunity? (Unless it was a speed potion, those only take sugar)

(Hopefully the server won't have noob stuff like /spawn or /home, because that would make getting back too easy)

Gah, for some reason, I wish I were a Minecraft noob again.
Back on my single player, trying to figure out how to find iron, (Diamonds were a non-existent thing I didn't even know about) and running like heck from any mobs I found. Snowballs were teh bomb. I got a snow world. I thought it was just snow world stretching in all directions. I didn't explore too much. It was mysterious and fun. Good times.

Maybe the wiki isn't as great as I think it is.

Yeah, after 1.0 I'm going to make sure I find out nothing about the next update. Then, when it comes out, it'll be great!

And what you said about the potions is so true, they are really hard to get. Although I guess speed potion should be made harder.

I'll set up bukkit perms.  About voxelsniper, I was doing some specific terraining.  Also, like I said, how is it really cheating.  However, you are the boss, so whatev.

Also, a few people are wondering, will we get a /spawn plugin?

But it updates when you walk beside it, below it etc. Who says you'll see it before it's too late?

What? I asked nothing.

What you said made no sense, as to me, it looks like:

Don't touch redstone update block from few blocks away ????? PROFIT!

I clearly stated that it was redstone ORE in the floor. When walking over redstone ore, it lights up, thus causing the blocks around to be updated.

There is a redstone circuit that activates when a block next to it updates.

When have you ever thought twice about walking over a redstone ore?
