I would love to be curator. I would add projects that are great and never front paged and a range of 0-125 views. I would not just put projects up that people send me links to. I think that I would be a great curator. I personally like platformers and mesh games. I have a lot of experience with working with others and I do work well with them (like that matters :p) This is why I think I should be the next curator.

I wouldn't mind to be a Scratch Curator! I come online to Scratch everyday. It would be an honour to be a Scratch Curator!

Hmm... A curator seems like a big responsibility. I have now been on Scratch for I think about two years now. I was around when the curating began (Though I did not have an account). Since then I have wanted to be a curator, though that doesn't sound much different then the other one-thousand applicants. I realize that the Scratch Team want's a curator that will choose projects the community would appreciate. I believe that right now people want good animations, and games based on what I have seen. I will not choose projects now, but rather stage a contest where people can enter their animations, and I might choose them. I don't know if this is the way the Scratch Team would like me to do it. And I can change the way I select projects. There would be rules to entering the contest, like, you must have had an account for a month, the projects must have less than 100 views, etc. Now let's get to the checklist.
On often: | X
Knows the Scratch community well | X
Has had an account for a year | X
Never been banned | X
I believe that I check out. Also, I have been curated. So I know how I would want it done. If there is anything I have missed please inform me. Also, the Scratch Team wants a wide variety of Scratchers. They want gamers, storytellers, animators, boys, and girls. I am a gamer, animator, and a great member in the community.

Attention!!!
Kayybee is right. Mostly (coolstuff is one exception) the selected curators write long or thorough posts. You don't have to write 20 paragraphs, but you should include what you would select in your speech.
Please take this advice.

I would really like to be a curator. However, I am still thinking about some things...
What if the current "curator" picks a violent project? It'd be shown off on the frontpage for about a week...

scratch doesn't pick new scratchers to be curator. im sure you would be a great curator... just gain trust in the scratch community, become a scratcher, and they might let you be curator!

Hello Lightnin,
I would like to be a curator (if possible). My favorite types of projects are RPG's, and choice projects. I also enjoy creative projects, and animations. My favorite animator (i don't care if i spelled it incorrectly) is BobbyF! (Go Kingdom Hearts!http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Jakanator/241015 )
I know i haven't posted too much (Heh, it's actually quite pitiful) but i would really like to become a curator!

Interested in applying to be a Scratch curator?
We choose curators that represent the diversity of the Scratch Community - girls, boys, gamers, storytellers, animators - Scratchers of all kinds! We especially like to choose Scratchers who have been helpful and contributing members of the Scratch community.
When applying to be curator, it's good to give some thought to the kind of projects you'd like to show. "Cool projects that most people have never seen!" is a nice idea, but it doesn't really give us a good sense of what you like and why. We want to know what makes a project interesting to you.
Try viewing the projects in your favorites, and see if you can find a theme that describes them. Talk about that theme in your post on this thread, and consider providing a few links to good examples of that theme.
For example, I really like projects that use sound input from the microphone to draw interesting designs on the screen. Here's an example of one that I recently added to my favorites: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/MitFan/874786

I would love to be a curator! I feel very happy for the past and present curators that inspired me to be one! It's okay If you don't pick me, I'll congratulate that curator and wait to be the next! Iwouldn't it be cool to be one :cool ?

It would be SO COOL to be a curator!! But, if, like Cheddargirl said, Scratch randomly selects 3 favorites, (or by date) that might be weird because some projects from my favs are a little lame... But I guess what paddle2see said would work...

I'd like to be a curator. I would pick projects that make you say WOW and fall out of your chair. I would also pick some projects that have less than 30 views but are AMAZINGLY AWESOME.

Hello Scratch Team, i would like to apply for curator. i know what you are thinking... Oh no! Vanilla will envade the front page with nyan cat projects! Not true, i have a Particular taste for projects. i Love creative and artsy projects, here are a few examples : http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Jasmidge/1950706 i like this first project here because i haven't seen anything like it before! it really would stand out on the front page, Plus it is super fun and i think scratchers of all ages would enjoy it. Here is another example of what i would curate : http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/richjones69/1660369 i like this Project because i think it is very creative and it really keeps you on the edge of your seat trying not to crash! Very fun. I am on the Scratch website at least once every week so i am on Very often i know that Being a curator is a great deal of responsibility and i would like to Challenge myself . i would only curate projects with less than 200 views because it is pretty hard to find a good project with 100 views or less nowadays.

hmm... can someone explain me what does curator actually do? i would like to do something new, but if this has too many obligations no thanks XD
A Curator for Scratch picks projects to go on the front page Just as a Curator for a Art gallery picks diffrent kinds of art to go on display

Now, I really think being a curator would be fun. I can't just look at my favorites and find a theme becuase i'm using my favorites list to make a collection of projects that i'm going to use for a game soon, but I think that I really like games that have a profesional touch to them. Some games have good programming, but bad art. Some games have great art, but are laggy or very jumpy in nature. Some have both good art and programming, but there's no sound. Theres even projects that have all three of these things, but sometimes there are too many glitches, or the sound is mistimed, or little things like that. I like it when people really put a lot of work into their projects and come out with a final project. If I became a scratch curator, that's what I would put on the page.
