When will the web client come out?

I was just wondering when even a early alpha of the web client for Scratch will come out. I really need it for a project at school and we run Mac OS X 10.6.8. If I am allowed to test it I promise that I will give valuable input.

Re: When will the web client come out?

Not anytime soon. Definitely not soon enough for a school project.

Unless it’s due sometime next year, or late December.

I’m not sure how or when, but I remember a while back someone figured out how to convert Scratch files (.sb) into Mac Applications (.app)

I’ll see if I can find it, and come back to you later.

Re: When will the web client come out?

You could try this if the computer has Java.

But this is what I was talking about earlier. [EDIT: Nevermind, the link is broken. I’ll see if I can get my copy of it on MediaFire]

That’s impossible without downloading Scratch to the computer

The computers don’t have Scratch, otherwise, this wouldn’t be a problem.

If you put Scratch on a USB drive you could do it on School computers so long as there is a USB port.

Yeah, just add Scratch for Mac to the USB drive as well. I'm pretty sure USB was invented by Apple...

I know that the flash drive would work, but installing wouldn't. (I already downloaded it at school and the install didn't work.) Is there maybe a sneaky way to get it to work, such as a .jar version?,,,,,,,,

Well then get the .zip file and extract it into the Flash Drive?

You can still download the Mac version.

First, log out, then click “download Scratch”. After that, click MacScratch1.4.dmg.

Put the file (without installing, or using Scratch) in the USB Flash drive.

Take it to school.

Open the project with Scratch.

It works.

Just use the Scratch.image file. There’s no installer.

OK...
Edit:I tried Mick's IMAGE collection to get images. Our computers don't have Squeak.

Not actual images.

The file that literally says “Scratch.image” in the very front of the folder. I’m not sure why it’s labeled “.image” because that gets confusing, but on Macs, “.image” files should be openable.

And there’s also no installer if you use MacScratch1.4.dmg. Scratch doesn’t have a Mac installer like it does for Windows. So I STRONGLY suggest using that. If I am wrong (which I highly doubt) and it does have an installer, you can open the file that says “Scratch.image” and it will work.
