Sorry, for the overly stupid heading, too exited. Anyway I plan to get Minecraft before the full version comes out, which sadly is in a few weeks. So When I do get it (if my dad goes with the plan) I will post it over here. So, anyone get any pro tips for me on what to do on my first day, other then build a shelter, I am probably going to use the wiki but, I would like a few tips and pointers from you guys. Maybe suggest a good texture pack for me? I donno, do what you will with this topic.

If your okay with HD packs, Tronic is great.

Stick to the default first, then once you know what everything looks like switch over.
Don't build a shelter first day, mine into a mountain or dig into a hill then put a door on it, you can expand later.

Yeah, I guess that would work. I should find a cave and and make different rooms and layers and stuff (going to play ''peaceful'' for a few weeks). Might find some diamonds while doing that I guess. Once I get a pretty awesome at the game, I will switch to hard a play on that for a while, then I guess I should go multiplayer.

Just so you know, if you buy the beta version you don't get any of the full version updates (so I'd probably just wait for full version if I was you)
And on your first day I would suggest just playing it on peaceful and getting use to the game, and then moving on to easy, normal or hard

Ah, ok, I just remember when beta came out originally there was a bit of arguing about whether it would pay for full version or not
Ok, just double checked, apparentally beta purchasers get the full version but they have to pay for expansions (and maybe other updates and stuff)

I've already made a skin for myself (even though I don't have minecraft yet). And I think I picked out a good looking texture pack: Forgotten Lands
It's got an awesome look to it. Anyway I have a few more questions
How do I install a texture pack?
How can I spawn cows and for odd reasons, creepers?
I have a lot more I should ask later.

Try using creative mode first. There are no monsters and you have infinite health/items.
Does the stuff I build stay in my world?
Yep Stays, as long as you use that world.
CREATIVE MODE FTW!!!

Yeah, but I am only allowed to buy one game per month and this month I am bent on Minecraft.

After watching about 27 video's I figured out what I plan to do on my first week of playing Minecraft. Since I will be playing on Peaceful, I don't have to be afraid of the monsters but there are things I should be aware of, like lava.
Anyway the list:
-Punch trees till I get 12 logs
-Make logs in plank then even divide them into sticks
-Make a workbench
-Make pick and axe
-Find high ground for a base
-Look for coal
-Make torches and light up base area
-Dig some space for base
-Make windows to check if sun is up
-Find blocks.
-Make sword
-Make a mineshaft
-Make a second base on the ground floor
-Find hostile mobs
-Plant trees
-Make a porkchop machine (creative mode)
And that is about it. But there is still one problem... I don't have Minecraft yet. So call me crazy my peoples.

Terraria is only fun because of the countless items to collect, but once you get them all it's boring, no fun in building.
I've spent over 4000 hours on minecraft, it's the best game I've come across next to wurm (400 days playtime) and it rarely gets boring unless you cheat on your first day.

Notch *may* have you pay for future updates. His lawyers wanted him to add that to the TOS

If minecraft becomes a monthly payment game then I'm off or pirating it.
