Starting Scripts As Soon As Scratch File Is Open

Is there a way of starting scripts without the green flag or any keys being pressed. Say, as soon as particular costume appears, start script.

You can use broadcasting:

[blocks]<broadcast[ start some scripts now ]>[/blocks]

However, how will you make a particular costume appear if it is not with an event like a key pressed or the flag?
