Scratcher's OS
I would like to create an OS for Scratch, and would like some help. Programmers and artists needed.
This OS will have applications that you can open.

Versions:
None yet
My wishlist for this collab
For version 1.0:
Typewriter v2.1.0 (by me; currently in development)
Scratched Scratch v1.4 or later (if we can work together)
MusicPlayer v1.1 (in development by me)
a Calculator program
Help
Calendar (if possible)
FreeDraw v1.0 (finished)
UI like Windows 7, but with the Scratch cat in the bottom left
Shutdown feature (script already available for offline)
For v1.0.1
Typewriter 2.1.1 (2.1.0 with scrolling, and more fonts)
rest same
Once Scratch 2.0 comes out:
Accounts/Login/Logout/Account confirmation via comments
My Files
My Music (requested through comments)
My Word Documents
Videos
Time, calendar
Ability to change OS
File Browser
Positions needed:
Scratched Scratch collab team member (if we were to do that section)
UI artists
Programmers
Beta testers
Wildcat's OS (Panther version)
Need all of above.
Will include an actual read-only internet.

Can't help, i'm in another collab, but you might not want to call it squeak os. squeak is the language scratch is written in.

I'm in another OS collab, but videos already possible in Scratch 1.4- you could create a sprite with multiple costumes and run a [forever][nextcostume][wait (0.125) secs] script and it will create the illusion that it's a video. In other words, stop motion animation.
However, I can give some advice.
imnotbob is right, Movie maker is way too complex for Scratch. Even if you did make one, it would be very primitive and full of limits. It would also mean plenty of scripts... Scratch can't handle that much stuff- maybe frequent disappearing text problems and lots of crashing. Also Scratch isn't capable of saving files on a hard drive (and it never will be) so you can't really make movies anyway.
Calendar is possible, but if you click the green flag all your events will be reset, that's the problem.

I thought that in Scratch, 2.0, there would be a way to tell time and the day. Whatever. Anyone want to join?

If you hack Scratch through Shift-Click-R, you can get the time block. In Scratch 2.0 it's possible that they can do that with no hacking. You can run a script that asks them the minute and the hour, and set variables to that, etc. Still, I can't join 'cause I'm in another collab.

I'll make a calculator program if you look at this:http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/SJRCS11_010/2116546

I will join, I can do art and special effects, things to make it looks professional, etc. Am I in?

Thenuclearduck, you are in as a UI artist.
Sorry SJRCS11_10, but I was planning on doing the calculator myself, but you can create one and I'll look at it if you like.
BTW, I already had seen that.

Okay, is there anything else I can do?

Anything actually. If you want to make a calculator, go ahead. If you can up with any other feature I could have, feel free to suggest them.

There is no forum or way for any inappropriate content to get on here unless I added it.
