making a bacground stay in place

I want to know how to hold a background in place so the sprites do not get lost behind the back ground.

Try clicking on the "Stage" near the bottom right part of the screen, and put your Backgrounds in the "Stage." The Stage should stay behind all the sprites. Does that work for you?
