Web browsers what do you think?

I just want to know what people think about web browsers. I'm wanting to make a new web browser in vb/c and would like to know what people like/dislike about web browsers like chrome and IE. Post any suggestions or ideas here please I would like to know!  smile

Re: Web browsers what do you think?

You are amazing with web browser, by the way. So can't wait.

1. Chrome
I like how quick and simple it is. Open source
2. Firefox
Well for me, I like all the developer ability. And also that it is open source. Addons are awesome also. There are so many.
3. IE
Absolutely nothing is good about it.  tongue

ok so you want a quick, slick kind of browser that has dev tools and is open source. I'll bare that in mind, thanks.  smile

What do you think of an icons only sort of tab system. (much like the windows 7 taskbar)

Re: Web browsers what do you think?

I think you can't make your own webbrowser. (It's to hard)
Only if you use a finished webkit or xulrunner based "Browser" component.

yes i will probally use a .net component but I am more interested in the layout and the features the program will have as a whole.

Make sure you use tabs. It's annoying if you can't.

Re: Web browsers what do you think?

Hello there. Interesting because nobody mentioned the browser Opera. If you have a mobile, iphone or android, I think Opera is very much ahead. I do not want to defend this web browser here but it's really cool. I think Firefox is in a war with Chrome. Internet explorer is going in the same way as Netscape...(well, windows is bugs everywhere). I like the way tabs work in opera, i think it's a good to take a look at that as well.

Thanks, Dan

+1 only I've never really used firefox. XD

If you are reading this, please read to the end, because if you don't you won't know what's at the end. Don't just skip to the end though otherwise you won't be able to read the middle, which is most important. Now you must be wondering why you just read all that, the reason is you may have not noticed something, read it again and see if you notice it this time  smile

Re: Web browsers what do you think?

Safari: Love Top Sites homepage  big_smile
FireFox: Love linked files in View Source (Good for nosy web devs), don't like the fact that JS has to go in brackets (javascript:(//bookmarklet code here)).
Chrome: Love Inspect Element for real-time changes

Just the website's icon on the tab? That would be sweet.  smile

Not for pages that don't have favicons, or for multiple pages on the same site  tongue
