You look at the main router, somewhere it should say what type it is - then look it up on google but put "port forwarding" after it

For example: "Netgear 9487 Port Forward"

The problem with a port forwarded server is that it will not work for everyone. I tried testing it out with some of my long-distance friends, but it only worked with people in a 150-ish mile radius.

If you want a server that works for everyone, try either 1) Making it a hamachi server or 2) buying one off sites like akliz.net

Re: Minecraft Official Topic

Can someone help me with some redstone? I was making a 2 bit adder and it needed an OR Gate.

I hadn't done any redstone stuff before so this was like my first OR gate in action. I realised that for the OR gate (the one shown on mcwiki anyway) to work it needs levers on the sides, since plain redstone doesn't give the block power.

So there's not much point, is there?  If you can't have redstone as the input to the OR gate.

I worked around it using XOR gates but is there another OR gate which accepts redstone wire as an input?

I assume you mean this diagram?

There's mutliple ways to do that. The simplest would be to just connect the two input wires to the output, like so:

If you don't want a positive signal flowing backwards into one of the inputs, you can just connect the inputs to the output with repeaters:

Hope that helps you out. It's certainly a lot easier than using XOR gates.  tongue

If so, awesome.

Righto.

it could be on a plugin server where the ceiling is made of obsidian, and only mobs can pass through obsidian.

The layer above is covered in monster spawners of various types. There's also another plugin where tools cannot affect obsidian.

There are chest everywhere that contain a WIDE variety of items.

It also counts a score of sorts, based off of how many enemies you killed/how long you lived/etc.

Feedback, anyone?

Awesome idea, like I said. And I would make a server so it could be made, but home server hosting hasn't been nice to me, except for in-house connections.

You mean you'd actually make it?

Sweeeeeeet, bro.

Maybe the map and plugin could also be up for public download, just in case someone else also likes this idea.

That's basically what MobArena does, except not so specifically...
