Not sure you if you have this in the States, but Kids Help Phone is an excellent resource, too.
Ah, but Scratch is world wide - so it'd be good to link to resources like this one. Got a link?
http://kidshelpphone.ca appears to be the link. It offers excellent support online and on the phone for kids and teens who are getting a bit stressed.
Apparently there's also Kids Help Line, an Australian counterpart, too.

Those are awesome. Should we break down the list by country? Like:
US:
etc.
etc.
Canada:
etc.
Australia:
etc.
I guess it could get kind of big. But it seems worth it to provide links to good resources that are available in different places.

Well, I also think that topics like ones about 9/11 aren't great. I'm quite young and one of them got me kinda creeped out. It made me think about the subject for days and days after, and I didn't like it. It was just so horrible.
IMO though, we are obligated to know about those sort of thing. Just my opinion.
I think so too, but once you're older than ten.

That sounds good! I guess all the web-based services would be global, but then again, phone-based services would differentiate by country.

Look, I could never turn to 'family or friends' for the hell my life is. I've accepted it, and if there's something really bothering me, its good to know that I have good friends on the Miscellaneous forums, for even a glance at help. I can see the suicide thing a bit, knowing there also exists arrogant and insensitive people, even on the Misc. forums. Though, I feel people can be their true selves on Misc, and most people are good in that sense. So, I'd say that you should close individual topics, only in the case of it being 'too sensitive' on the forums, rather than just ban all these topics all together. Most people receive the help they need from Misc, so why not let it be?

Quit being so melodramatic. If they are truly your friends, you can talk to them about how much your life is "hell". Stop playing the victim card just because you want to talk to complete and total strangers about how depressed you are on a children's forum.

That wasn't the point of that post at all -_-.....
I'm not going over my 'life story' again. I can't tell my family or friends because I have a fake cover. I'd never tell anybody outside of Scratch how I really am, because I feel more free on Misc. I'm not trying to win anybody's sympathy. I just want actual friends, instead of being alone and annoyed by the arrogance of this world. No offense to you, but you tend to be a perfect example of the red text

@sanddude
I am sorry for your misinterpretation of my post. I don't intend becoming lethal enemies. That would be too much like real life, which is why I go on Scratch; as an escape. Rather, lets be friends. I also hope I didn't offend you in any way with my above post. If so, I am truly sorry.

Check out the first post for the crux of the argument. Misc is not a personal or private channel, and kids of all ages can, do, and will view the posts here. While one of the concerns is that it's not a suitable place for the people experiencing strong emotional distress, the other is that kids who are too young will see their posts. It's not appropriate to put them in that position.
By all means - please do keep in touch with your friends on Scratch. But it's just not the place for the kinds of conversations described in the first post.

my opinion of this matter:
topics about suicide and 9/11 are a little too much for scratch forums
but it is okay to be friends with people on the forums and talk to them just like you would with your real friends without sharing anything too personal

I do not agree. I've got no life outside Scratch.

Do you have any friends on Scratch? You can contact them through comments so you can get their email or something if you want to talk with them privately.
