EXE/APP exporting built-in

They should build in .app exporting (for Macs) and .exe exporting (for Windows) into Scratch 2.0. It would be in the Share menu probably. I know there are ways to do this already for .exe, but there is no up-to-date (with both Scratch 1.4 and OS X 10.7) method for .app. I'm guessing both of these would work in something like presentation mode.

Re: EXE/APP exporting built-in

You can always use BYOB.  (I think exporting to .swf is both more likely to happen and more useful.)

Re: EXE/APP exporting built-in

Does BYOB have .app exporting for OS X 10.7?

Isn't SWF for stuff on the Internet, not downloadable apps?

Re: EXE/APP exporting built-in

swf is runnable with flash player program and online, so it's better.

I'm pretty sure an app will work on 10.7. Have you tried it and failed?

If it works on Snow, it'll work on Lion.

Well, it might not work on Snow. That's not important though, because I don't think it will work with Scratch 1.4 anyway.

Topic about this.

I think SWF would be okay too... is that being considered for 2.0? You're right that it would be more compatible, since (part of) Scratch online is in Flash too.

It does work on .6. So it should work on .7

I have 10.6.8.

Either Scratch 1.4 or my OS is the problem... I don't know which.

Re: EXE/APP exporting built-in

Scratch 2.0 will have SWF export, I think. The whole thing is being made in Flash anyway.
