Don't worry, it doesn't crash your computer. I kill it to fix a graphical glitch with taskbar windows in Windows 7 where windows appear to be still highlighted. Then I just start it again with Task Manager's New Task menu item (under File).
So, how often do you kill Explorer (or any other process)?

Yeah I used to do it a ton, back when I only had a gig of memory. Now that I have 3.5 gigs, I haven't needed to.

I do. It gets annoying when that happens.

I kill it when there's an error... well it actually kills itself
Very annoying

It's always fun to do it at school and fake-freak-out then mentally laugh at my teacher as he tries to find out where the task bar went. :P

I only kill it when it stops working and tells me to restart it and restart is the only option.

I never kill any processes except LOTRO once when I told it not to appear in the task bar and minimized it.

One time I thought it was ie (which i don't use) so I ended its task. And then I was like :OOOOOO

Once I accidentally quit it. It wasn't responding and I thought it was IE.
I freaked out.
