There should be a converter for Scratch to Flash. That way, we would be able to upload our Scratch cartoons to YouTube and other file sharing website. We would be able to put our games on Newgrounds.

theres to many reasons against this. i just wrote up a 20 lines paragraph explaining them, but it got deleted cuz of a popup >:{. Basicly the youtube player only uploads projects that has no interactivity ,compaired scratch games to newgrounds games, and some of the best scratch games wont get much higher then 1.5 rating because scratch isint made for such high Quality. There are just to many diffrences in scratch and flash's way of programming. Lastly SWF files (flash files) cannot be played without flash and will become corrupt. If your that desperate, buy flash or live without it!

You're right about the rating thing. Games in flash look so good... but scratch's paint tool makes it look very ugly, but still, I've games on here that really do look professional.
And BTW, scratch 2.0 is being rewritten in flash, so now it'll be much more powerful and you don't have convert it (i think).

Look its very easy to say...lets do this, sounds great, but what about the bad things. This would ruin most scratch mods and scratch would have to be reprogrammed. I think they are doing this like with the new scratch 2.0 and the online viewer, but this is suggested way too much!

That's a great idea, but how is the converter going to find out which block is equivalent to which actionscript? That's the hard part. Bad thing: If this converter is launched, wouldn't every Scratch user that acquires it is going to put all their Scratch projects on Newgrounds? There won't be any projects on Scratch, and the website is deserted because the projects went straight to newgrounds . Another thing is the Scratch team said Scratch 2.0's online player is coded in flash, and if it's coded in Flash, then we don't need this converter!

Scratch is for learning programming. If you wanna upload somewhere, go learn actionscript or something.

Exactly. Where is the wait 1 second block? Or the change pixelate effect?

You can't convert Scratch projects to Flash files at the moment, and I don't think we ever will be able to. Besides the point of editing the project in Flash (which is useless, considering you can edit it in Scratch), the only advantage is to have it running in Flash - but the next version of Scratch will be entirely Flash-based, so it won't even make a difference

You don't upload flash to youtube, you upload video files like .avi, flash only plays the video files.
