Agreed.  smile

I've been looking around for one of these I also have a xp laptop next to my iMac. Sadly I've only found one for using a windows laptop as a monitor for a windows system which doesn't even work ( I used bootcamp to test it ) called MaxiVista.  tongue

Synergy and Sharemouse are both good for sharing one mouse between the two, but synergy doesn't work for me and sharemouse is commercial.  big_smile

Overall it's just lose-lose

Sorry... but if you do find something that works, be sure to let me know  smile

Did you try Synergy+? And there's another program called InputDirector that I've tried.

Uh, Mac requires the hard disk to be formatted in a certain way or else you're screwed, and the fact that certain parts for the MacBook are completely super-sensitive, a Windows 7 laptop would still be much better.

Back in my day.... there were no laws that censored the internet... now, there are.... nah.

You mean HFS+? Windows requires a specific format called NTFS or it's screwed  tongue

And MacBooks are discontinued. He means macbook pro. Macbook Pro is tougher than any PC laptop I've ever seen or used  wink

Re: HELP keep old laptop

Umm, If you are using this as a LAPTOP (portable), why not just dual boot it? If you have a big enough hard drive why bother with this? It's just a pain to carry two laptops with you. If you are using it as a home computer like we do (I have one laptop for portability (2003 Sony VAIO) I share one laptop for home (Gateway) and one desktop for home (HP)) then I can understand what you're trying to do.

Re: HELP keep old laptop

Hey guys, just jumping in to ask you to please, please refrain from posting comments regarding his choice of laptop. This isn't about Macbooks vs another kind of laptop, so let's not turn it into an argument about that, okay?

As for your question, I don't know, sorry. I've been looking for the same thing so I could use my old laptop as a second monitor for my desktop, but so far everything I've found either doesn't work very well or is expensive.  hmm
