If you have no idea what it's like, then why do you keep insisting that homeschooling is better?
I didn't. I was just getting mad because they were bragging...

There is no way the last one there made you mad. All either of them said was "Public" and "half public half private". I don't see anything there that could possibly make anyone mad in the slightest.

You know it's possible for someone to have been both?

Used to be private, but I'm in public now. My parents and I are hoping that I can be transferred to private again

I second this.
For the first one, I can understand you getting annoyed. But someone answering your own question with a very basic answer and getting mad... ??? If you're that sensitive you shouldn't have made this topic...

I go to public school and I love it.
I have friends who go to private school and some who are home-schooled and they love it too. I think every type of schooling has its merits.

It could well be that different types of schooling are better for different types of students - or for different types of students at different times of their lives. So saying that one is better than another is really subjective. Please try not to jump to judgement - let's keep this discussion polite

Merits of Home School:
No homework!
Your teacher gets more hands-on time with all of the students, which means most of the time homeschoolers are smarter/more advanced. No offense.
You get to pet your cats during school time
There's some other stuff but it might not be true for you.

I totally agree.
I've never attended any type of school but public (unless co-op preschool counts
), but I know public school works for me because I've learned a ton and done well. I have really awesome teachers who love their subjects, there are loads of motivated students, and the social "hierarchy" of my school is, um, un-Hollywood-like, to say the least. But, like I said, I have friends who attend the other types of schools and those work great for them. Also, many of my friends started out in home school or public school or private school and switched because it wasn't ideal for their personalities.

I go to a public school, though I've always though private would be an interesting experience. There are classes in public school that I doze through (mentally not physically
), and there are classes that I like a lot and challenge me. I'd really love skipping, say, Honors Pre-calc, and going on to more advanced math. Having said that, I probably couldn't play in the marching band if I was home schooled, lol.
P.S. I've often though they should have placement tests in Math at the beginning of every school year, what do you guys think?
