Why should you be embarrassed? You seem to be the only one with courage out there to speak up. You can point that out next time someone tries to poke fun at you, they should be the ones who are embarrassed for doing nothing.

I am proud hat I actually got up and shouted that in the middle of class. It sure did seem to lighten his mood a bit 
I'm just a sensitive person. And to hear/see somebody get made fun of (especially if I like them makes me want to scream. And to have somebody do that to me makes me even angrier.

He's probably over weight. So they were making fun of him.

No, he's not. It's because nobody likes him, so they'd use him as a shield so he'd get all the pain.

If he doesn't really have friends, I'm sure he'd be happy if you became his friend.  There's no shame in who you're friends with.  And I bet he's glad someone's standing up for him.
Don't listen to those other kids.  You did the right thing, sticking up for him how you did.

Yeah, but if I were you, I still wouldn't take that harassment for standing up for someone who seems to have a hard time defending himself. Frankly, if it were me, I'd stand up against those who are making fun of you for it (like I said before: You can point that out next time someone tries to poke fun at you, they should be the ones who are embarrassed for doing nothing.)

(And thanks, glad to hear that you like the Halloween version of my sig. It varies throughout the season so expect another sig change in December for winter  )
