Mac Book Pro- Which model?????

I want a Mac Book Pro

But... Should I get

-A 13' inch with 7 hour battery and $950 (refurbished)

-Or a 15' with 9 hour battery and better performance and speed but $1400?

UPDATE: I'm getting this: http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC371LL/A When it comes in stock!

Re: Mac Book Pro- Which model?????

Get the new ones with Sandy Bridge processors. Just as an example of how much faster they are, my base model 21" beats my mum's top end quad core 27" in a benchmark hands down. Mine is mid 2011 and my mum's is from 2010 with a core2duo.  smile

If they both have sandy bridge processors, I'd get the 15" unless portability is important. But if portability is not important at all, you can get a nice iMac with a better screen and processor for the same price  wink

Don't get one. They are a waste of money. You could get a desktop with 8cores for $1000

Sounds expensive for just a laptop.  But, hey, if you want to spend that much, either one is fine.

$1199 (US) I think for the quad-core i5 21" iMac with 512MB graphics. That's two extra cores over the refurbished 13" and similar to the 15" for less money.

Do you have to take the laptop around in your bag to school and stuff? If so, I guess a macbook pro would be more suitable. Get the 15" if at all possible  smile

Don't get that one!!! Get the one released in early 2011. They old ones don't have Sandy Bridge processors as far as I know, and the new ones do which make them many times faster! And the new one has Thunderbolt™!

This one also has only a 320GB drive whereas even the base model 13" of the 2011 ones have 500GB.

Unless the extra 2 inches of screen are absolutely neccesary the new 13" would be more suitable as well as portable if portability is important to you.  smile
