A microphone should be installed with scratch 2.0

I don't have a microphone on my computer, and I would like to make lip syncs. PLEASE LET THIS BE IN 2.0!!!!!

You can't have a microphone on a program. You can have a recorder, but not a microphone. Every computer comes with a built-in microphone. You just need to find it.

No, not ever computer comes with a built in microphone. Microphones are hardware, so they can't be created in the software.

I do agree though; MIT should send each and every person that downloads Scratch a nice professional-quality microphone for our personal use.

Yes, if your computer doesn't already have a microphone (built or plugged in) then it won't be able to detect sound. If the software has a microphone, it won't be able to detect sound cause you're computer won't.

It's sort of like saying this lead for my mechanical pencil should include shakiness.

TL;DR: A program cannot magically poof up a microphone. Or any other solid thing, like a cd or something. You must buy one yourself. Once you do, scratch already has a recording system.

You can't just "download" a microphone.  You need to buy one in a physical store.  Computers can have software to record sounds, but it can't make changes to your computer, physically.

There are some pretty cheap mics out there. Fry's should probably have some.

The microphone isn't part of a program, it's separate, so that's not possible  hmm
There are lots of places that sell microphones really cheaply though  smile
