So we're going to make an info page about Scratch Design Studio curators - the helpful Scratchers that add all the projects submitted to Design Studio (see link on front page). We need a good graphic for it! Here are the criteria:
* Image can be of a single design studio curator, or a group of curators together - whatever you think is best.
* They should look really friendly and helpful
* Try to match the style and size of the image on the community moderator page ( http://info.scratch.mit.edu/Community_Moderators )
I think that's it - but I'll edit this first post if we think of more factors. Thanks!

I have a question about the first point. Could you explain it a bit more? I don't really get what you wanted right there.

Sure! I mean the image could be of one character representing a design studio curator, or it could be an image of several 'curators' together. As long as it represents "Design Studio Curators", it should be ok.

Oh, okay. Just like the Community Moderator image. Thanks.
I'll see what I can do, later in the day.

Awesome! I might throw something together.
Still thinking about my question about curating for the DS?

Hehe, a little off topic, but yes, we are still thinking about it.

I'll try and create a character! That would be fun!
But should it be an animal like Scratch Cat and Gobo, or a human?

Gah, I feel bad about not doing too much as a SDS curator (but this theme I can't help with because I don't celebrate Halloween...)
I might see if I can make something

I think something that's similar to the Scratch Cat / Gobo illustration on the community moderator page would be best, just so we can kind of keep a consistent theme going. But it's probably hard to think of a character that's kind of like them...
Maybe you could use something else (creature or animal) from the sprite library, and kind of spruce it up or something? That might work with the theme. I'm not sure what exactly to recommend though.

Great! And I love your sig, by the way. Does it have a story?

It's the Phantom (aka Erik) from Phantom of the Opera I'm not sure who the Phantom is in it (JOJ, Raimn, Hugh Panaro, or just some random person dressed as Erik) but I just found it very amusing. I'm a pretty big "Phan" of the musical/book/movie(s). Highly recomend them all!

I was thinking maybe a bunny rabbit. We have a cat and a .... blob.. fish- thingy... so how about another pet like a rabbit or a dog?
I'll try and do that, but also do my own drawing too.

Are our usernames going to be on the page? Because one problem I used to have a lot more but still do is that when I give people the message that I added their projects, they sometimes don't believe that I am a curator and can add projects.

This is about creating an image for the page ABOUT DS curators! If you want to be a curator, go to the curator thread and ask there.

Nice - I like the idea of easel! I hadn't even thought of backgrounds. It might be nice to try something like a painting in a frame on a wall or something - to make it look like the curator is in a gallery or a studio.

Yeah! Some kind of animal or animals we haven't used yet would be great!

I like! The monkey is great, and hasn't really been used very much. Maybe it can be combined with other characters to show that there are multiple curators? Perhaps with some kind of simple gallery or studio object / background too (an idea ProgrammingFreak was exploring above).

Hmm... that seems like it'd be better for an image on a page describing design studio in general. Since we're talking about curators, I think we should stick to characters that represent people who help take care of the gallery.

Yup! That's the plan.

Gahh!!
Please don't ask people to ask me to be curator - I'll get spammed!
Just point 'em to the curator thread please - much better for all concerned.

I might take out the x and check mark though - even though one of the responsibilities of the curators is to decide which to add, we don't have to mention it very much (about 99% are ok to add anyway.
Phew! Sorry for the megawall, guys - just wanted to answer everything in one post. Better not quote the whole thing if you reply...
