1.9 download instructions:
1. Go to this page.
(It downloads the latest minecraft.jar)
2. Go to the following path on your computer:
.../users/*YOUR NAME*/AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/bin/
(for Windows)
.../users/*YOUR NAME*/Library/Application Support/minecraft/bin/
(for Mac)
3. Rename minecraft.jar to minecraft1.8.1.jar (or something else of your choice, it doesn't matter)
4. Drag the downloaded minecraft.jar file into your /bin/ folder (If it isn't currently named minecraft.jar, rename it to that)
5. Play!

You're not supposed to run it directly. You didn't even put in the right place. >_<

First ImagineIt, you need to put that .jar file into the right folder - I gave the path in the instructions. It won't work otherwise. Then, you have to rename the jar (It looks like it's name minecraft(4).jar) to minecraft.jar

How do I put it into a folder? I didn't put it into anything. Right when I clicked it in google chrome it said that.

Did you download the jar? The link there downloads the .jar file... Then you have to put the downloaded .jar file in the right folder, for which I gave the path up above.

Qaz, I could post a Mac version of your instructions. But I'm guessing everyone with a Mac is already smart enough! HAHAHAHA. tongue Jk.

Can you whitelist my real life friend? He's quite new to Minecraft.

When he joined MC: About 3 weeks ago, maybe 2.
How many servers has he been banned from, and why? None, as far as I know.
How many other servers does he play on? 1, a server just for me and my real life friends.
How many servers is he an OP/mod on? The one I mentioned a second ago.
Does he prefer survival or building? I don't know.
What does he like to build? I don't know. :/

I would have to quit the server if we upgraded. MY computer can't handle the current build of it. SO, my computer will handle the bug-fixed part in a halfmonth, but it can't handle it now.

Our build (bioa & i_am_slinger) is complete due to lack of time...
We call it the death maze. Please note that you can only enter when one of the staff are present (bioa or i_am_slinger).
The goal of the maze is to get to the end (duh) and give bioa or i_am_slinger an object that is in the box.
here is a screenshot of the end:
