Yup, I fully plan on re-reading all of the books before it comes out! ...After I read the rest of the Hunger Games books (finished the first one in a day
)
Oh, I also recommend the audio recordings of the books! I've only listened to Eragon but the guy who does read it is really good! (On the back of the box it says that he voiced Bob the Builder before XD )
Anyone else have thoughts on who the next rider will be?

My least favorite book was Eldest. I'm not reading that again. I liked Murtagh until the end of that book...

Me too
But it's mostly against his will (though I was very mad at him for killing Hrothgar with no orders to do so
).
I got very mad at the end of Eldest because throughout the first book I was all like "This guy [Brom] has GOT to be his dad!"
Murtagh: Hehe nope. Morzan's his dad.
Me:
*couple days later reading Brisingr*
Gladaer: "Brom is your father Eragon."
Me: YEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! (I literally stood up from my chair and screamed this. No joke.)
There's supposed to be some chapters in Inheritance from Murtaugh/Thorn's POV. I can't wait to see what Thorn is like! (When he's not mauling Saphira...)

You really do need to re-read the books
Brom is the guy who goes with Eragon when he leaves Carhaval, teaches and trains him on the run, and basically sacrifices himself to save Eragon from being killed by the Ra'zaac. He gives Eragon Zar'oc, makes Saphira's first saddel, and Saphira tunrs his tomb to diamond.
His mentors in Ellesmerea are Oorims and Gladaer (They died at the end of Brisingr, but Gladaer is still "alive" in his Eldunari... but he's kinda depressed because he's lost his rider and all that <-- Spoiler alerts for those who have not finished Brisingr)

Yeah, that's who I thought he was. It's been a couple years since I read Brisingr. I'll retread them all - except for Eldest - next time I go to the library.
Brom reminds me of Obi Wan Kenobi.

And if you've read the Ranger's Apprentice books, he also kinda reminds me of Halt, though not as much as he reminds me of Obi Wan.

Yeah
He couldn't fit everything he wanted to in Brisingr so he expanded it to a cycle as opposed to a trilogy.
I've also heard rumors of a prequel! I would love to see Brom's/Galby's/Morzan's story.

Nah, I think Brom would approve... since he's much better trained now. Though I do feel bad for Gladaer... Poor guy. He lost his "partner-of-mind-and-heart" (to quote Saphira) and he seems to be pretty depressed
I think it'd be more of a hugging moment per the revelation 3/4 the way through Brisingr
Then probably a smack over the head. For a lot of stuff...

Yeah.
Then he might tell Eragon everything he needs to improve.
I do feel bad for Gladaer, though. However, it's partially his own fault, because he knew he'd die and be stuck in his eldunari. Personally, I prefer Brom over what's-his-name-Gladaer's rider.

Ooromis? (spelling...?) Meh, I like them both in their seperate ways.
I don't know if I've mentioned this but...There's a theory that Brom's gonna come back from the dead. Please, no. I'd be fine with it if it had something to do with the "Vault of Souls" (which is the subtitle for the book like "The 7 Promises of Eragon Shadeslayer and Saphira Bitjarskular" was for Brisingr) though.
And he went to his Eldunari because he knew that was what needed to be done to topple Galbatorix. Doesn't mean he's happy about it though....

Another Star Wars connection:
Eragon - trained by Brom, Brom dies, trained by Ooromis and Gladaer, they die.
Luke Skywalker - trained by Obi Wan, Obi Wan dies, trained by Yoda, Yoda dies.

OMG
We needed this thread.
Now I can be angry about the movie to people who understand!
Maybe we should expand the thread for the Inheritance cycle.
I can't get it the day it comes out though. D: D: D:

The movie. was. HORRIBLE.
I read all 3 books and then watched the movie. I was not pleased.
Just a few of my problems with the movie
Angela. No, she is not thatstrange.
Ayra is not an elf (or she is and she lacks pointy ears). She's BLONDE? No elves are blond/redhead/whatever that was. You're not supposed to know about the princess thing yet.
Saphira's spontanious "growing up." Yeah no.
Too early for Brom's past to be revealed.
Raz'aac die before their time. That was like 100 pages of Brisingr!
Where is Orin?
Feathers.
You may enjoy this fanfiction.
It could have been such an epic movie series
