I think that these events need to be more widespread. As I perused this page, I noticed people saying that they wish that there were Scratch meet-ups in their area. I know that there are probably some details which I probably wouldn't understand, but I think that, if you really want to organize a Scratch meet-up, there should be more locations in America, as well as in other countries, to enable more people to communicate, share ideas, and program together.

Just to point out, Scratch @ school in UK says that it's open to everyone on the front page. But it is clearly a private event and is only open to pupils of one school. It says: 'This event is not open to the general public.' at this page: http://day.scratch.mit.edu/event/61

I live in the UK. I may not be old enough to start one, but I know someone who would be who lives near me! I don't know many people in the UK who play Scratch, only my friend spy2712, but maybe if I put up posters more people would come! And it's not just for people who already play Scratch. YES!!!! This is a brilliant idea, having a special day that's made especially to encourage people to use Scratch! I'll ask my parents if I can help start one!
Hey, I live in the UK and ill be probably there if you organise one, I think you should definitely do it!

<when green flag clicked><say[It's SO anoying that there's not one in England! It's also annoying 'cause I can't organise anything since only 1 of my friends are on scratch! But I guess I could do a little thing to introduce the rest of my friends scratch, although this is probaly the wrong forum to say that...]for( ??? )secs><stop all>

HI. can you try to get on skype with somebody who is organizing one at home and let them feed you the instructions. You can view their work once it is shared and you can make your contribution by typing comments into skype. I am organizing one at home but it's target group is parents and their children - just introducing scratch to them. You can join us - most welcome - scratch a nursery rhyme. otherwise why not try a cool teacher who is organizing an event in school within the same time zone as you and skype a scratch event with them. Just an idea. Have fun.

Anybody in Arizona going to put on a local event for Scratch Day 2009 ? My son and I are new but would love to attend one if it was fairly close.

Instead of Scratch Day 2009 in England, how about we get somebody to make a gallery with the nominees for the best game in the YEAR! Then we see who is the winner and the person who wins gets offered loads of special prizes! How about that?

I'm going to the one in Teachers College, New York City.

Scratch Day will be in 1 week!
Sadly, I can't celebrate it on real life. Well, I still can do it online, I guess.

Omigosh! I'm allowed to go to the one in San Francisco, but the place in the town says to be announced! I must know!
