New member FAQ

New member FAQ

Why can't I post in the miscellaneous?
Because the misc can get easly spammed. One day there where all the moderators out there and suddenly there were tones of new members which were spamming. So they deleted all of the spam, and they made a decision that new members cannot post in the miscellaneous. I'm not quite sure if this is true...

When will I be a member?
You need to have 50 posts, be patient, and be active on the forums. Projects can be used as a boost.

I have a question. I can't post It in the misc!
Use the all about scratch forum. You do not post questions in the misc.

why do I need to post questions in the all about scratch forum when I can use the miscellaneous?
Because new scratchers can't post in the miscellaneous, remember?

Re: New member FAQ

This seems like a good starting base for new scratchers but I think it might be a little too centered on Misc rather than other things. And just saying, you don't become a member, you become a scratcher.

It's okay, minor error. Other than that though, I think it will address most of the question scratchers who are fresh off the sign-up form will have.

Re: New member FAQ

It is not required to have 50 forum posts, you just have to be ACTIVE on the General Website or the forums.

I've seen scratchers with only 5 posts.

Good tips, anyhow.  smile

Bye 1.4!

Re: New member FAQ

i wish the scratch team would have some sort of requirements set up for becoming a scratcher instead of leaving us wondering when.

Well, I think if you post A LOT on the forums everyday and post projects often you get upgraded within maybe two weeks. If you are active and post some stuff on the forums and upload some projects (but not like, every two days) it might take a month or two. If you post a couple of projects and post a lot on the forums it takes maybe five months. If you upload a bunch of projects but hardly ever post on the forums it might take a year. If you have no projects at all, and even if you do post on the forums, it won't be upgraded for FOREVER (Well, maybe not forever, but it will take a looong time because you are upgraded to Scratcher for being one, and being a Scratcher is not never posting projects.
Hope this helps!
