Aphex Twin: drukqs vs. Richard D. James Album
Magnetic Fields: 69 Love Songs vs. Get Lost
Guided by Voices: Alien Lanes vs. Bee Thousand
The Flaming Lips: Transmissions from the Satellite Heart vs. The Soft Bulletin
The Smashing Pumpkins: Mellon Collie vs. Siamese Dream
They Might Be Giants: Flood vs. Apollo 18
Yes: Fragile vs. Close to the Edge

1. Rubber Soul. Revolver doesn't have "In My Life" on it.
2. OK Computer. Better individual songs.
3. Blue Album. Pinkerton's great, but all the songs on The Blue Album are great, and Pinkerton had one not-so-good song.
4. Extremely close, but Nevermind. While I prefer the production on In Utero, the music on Nevermind's just a little bit better.
5. Elephant. I love White Blood Cells, but I think Elephant was more mature and varied, which is a good thing.
6. The Slim Shady LP. No skippable tracks, unlike MMLP which has a few.
7. Dig Your Own Hole. Title track is just flat out awesome.
8. Discovery. The best songs are on Homework, but Discovery's a better front to back listen. Discovery doesn't have any filler, unlike Homework.
9. Clarity. It's just more beautiful.
10. Ride the Lightning. Creeping Death, For Whom the Bell Tolls, and The Call of Ktulu really do it for me.
11. Demon Days. Gorillaz has some of my favorite songs of theirs, but Demon Days is a better front to back listen.
12. Odelay. While Sea Change is great and more personal, Odelay's more varied to me.

I was going to put Smashing Pumpkins, but Siamese Dream seems to be too widely accepted as their best album. TMBG is a good one, but I think s/t vs Flopd would be more debatable.
Oh, and the sub-par one was "Tired of *". It's not terrible, but I just don't like it as much. The rest of the album is perfect, and without that song, Blue Album and Pinkerton would be a tie.

Eh... that's just me. I get where your coming from though. Pinkerton was a more personal album for Rivers. I think Pinkerton's a very close second best, because it's a great album.

Blue just sounds really overproduced and poppy to me.
Also it really isn't too disputed with fans; nearly everyone agrees Pinkerton is the best.

Both albums have a 4.4 average on Sputnikmusic and a 3.99 average on RateYourMusic. To me, it seems that the really hardcore fans will say Pinkerton, but among casual fans it seems pretty divided to me.
And I do actually prefer the production on Pinkerton like you, but I like the actual music on The Blue Album better.

Hmmmmm...
I guess I just don't like the music on Blue as much, although it's of much higher quality than junk like Raditude.

Yeah, we can both agree that Raditude is bad.
Also would Pretty Hate Machine vs. The Downward Spiral work?

I don't know.
I like The Fragile better than both though. And The Slip better than all.

I don't like Jimmy Eat World. I prefer the songs on BA though.

So I guess what you said is if you had to listen to them, you'd choose Bleed American over Clarity?
Also, could you please not do the comparisons if you dislike the band? I kind of want more of a fan-based comparison, instead of a lesser of two evils type comparison.

Oh sorry it's a bit of a misunderstanding. I don't like like the band, but I think they're alright. And I do like Bleed American as an album.
