The config I tried didn't work, so SimpleServer kept whining about it and restarting. .hold didn't work, and Force Stop from the MCRemote page on drdanick's website just made it start again, so I just left it looping.

Sorry for the really late reply. First, I had a ton of homework D:. Then, yesterday, I actually had a chance to post, but first, I somehow got logged in as some other user (mrsrec or something) and didn't notice it until I posted O_o. Then, when I logged in as myself and made the post again, the Scratch site went down just as I tried to post. DDD:

So anyway, here I am now. I built a custom version of SimpleServer that separates the ! and / commands again: ! for SimpleServer, / for everything else. But now there's apparently this other server using our IP. It's the same one as before (I'm pretty sure), with the whitelist (causing the "not whitelisted" message), and I didn't even do anything to allow them to take our IP legitimately. (Last time AoWC switched the main port to a different one, when it was another port that was causing the problem, and another server (the one in the way now) took the main port.) I managed to send AoWC a support ticket last night, and they responded telling me to try it now, without having done anything at all for the problem. >_<
So now you guys can start yelling at AoWC again

But Minecraft.net is down, so yeah, all you can do is get on as a guest and wander around.

Yeah, that's SimpleServer's Custom Authentication doing its work. You can't do much as a guest though.
Attention everyone: If you do manage to log in normally, type "!register <password> <same password>" (without quotes or angle brackets (<>)) to set a password for yourself. Then, when minecraft.net is down and you log in to the server as a guest, you can type "!login <username> <password>" (again, without quotes or angle brackets), and then if you got the password right, all you have to do is reconnect and you'll be yourself!
