SilviSoft Firedust has been released.

Yup! I finally got round to releasing SilviSoft Firedust!

Firedust is an OS shell that runs right on top of Windows. It gets rid of all those annoying, time-wasting features, and adds a sleek interface which helps you get more work done in less time.

For once, you have before you an OS shell which you can actually live with: it's got all the different features, it's fast, and very personalized. It includes tons of different offline apps, and if those aren't enough you can make your own using two special languages native to the OS!

That's right. Because Firedust doesn't only make life easier for the average user, but promotes developing as an educational experience. That means two languages, two environments. Firedust includes a block-based developing interface for console applications, and a syntax-highlighting text editor for its brand-new "FireScript" programming language.

As soon as you open Firedust, you're only a couple clicks away from editing your favorite picture, or writing a letter to your dad. Firedust's innovative Sliding Menu will slide into view on mouseover without the need to click: or you can press the menu key on your keyboard to move the pointer there.

Ready to try this new software? Download the file now and fire up the program in seconds, to see the best shell of the 21st century.

Planet Earth,
SilviSoft Corporation.

Enjoy. Download from Mediafire (Direct!) Download from Dropbox (Slow Direct!)

I used VB.NET 4.0 in Visual Studio 2010 Pro.

I have personally written around 20 thousand lines of code!

To be precise, exactly 18725 lines of VB, just for the main program. Then count the lines for the installers, updaters, libraries...

I really don't think this is quite the thread to ask these questions on, but I'll briefly answer them:
- You make the post counter in PHP. There's some special code for it which is too complicated to share.
- text as an image with no background can be a achieved by setting the background color of the image to transparent. Try looking up http://php.net/manual/en/function.image … parent.php!

it is not a threat... it is because not many people have used the program so it thinks it is a new virus but u can fix that by reporting false positives and stuff like that.

Re: SilviSoft Firedust has been released.

Very, very impressive! Tell me, what browser is your silvinet based on? It has a little trouble displaying my website correctly.

Also, once I'd set my admin password for the shell, I discovered that all I needed to do to log in was type any string, even just one letter, then backspace into the password field and it would log me in!

I shall have to have a closer look after Uni today  big_smile

If you are reading this, please read to the end, because if you don't you won't know what's at the end. Don't just skip to the end though otherwise you won't be able to read the middle, which is most important. Now you must be wondering why you just read all that, the reason is you may have not noticed something, read it again and see if you notice it this time  smile

What the internet needs is more than one tab...
