1. Elfen Lied -Contains nudity (nothing sexual) and a ton of blood and gore. But its so amazing! Its really sad, and leaves you thinking about the series forever after you've watched it. Its only 13 episodes, but the manga is twice as long as the series (127 chapters, and I read that too). The manga has a few big differences than the anime though (other than it being twice as long). I'm not joking at all when I say that this series has left a huge impact on my life.
2. Death Note -I swear, every person in this series is a fridge'in genius. Its really interesting because there's soooo many paths this series can take. There's also a lot of plot twists and sad moments.
3. Pokemon -Though some may argue that this anime is completely stupid, My whole young childhood revolved around Pokemon. And I still love playing the games and watching the anime today

Oh, I forgot...
4. Dragon Ball Z -You either love this, or you hate it..... I love it. Its a really good storyline, though most fight sequences last 20+ episodes.
