Epic Russian Gas Mask.
I just got my epic civillian sms russian gas mask. 'Tis awesome! However, I heard the filters contain asbestos, so I'm not sure what to do... I only want it for halloween purposes, so I'm thinking about opening the filter with a paint can opener and throwing out the contents. Is this a good idea? Is the asbestos enough to worry about?

but like
i believe it is illegal to sell things with asbestos
and if it's not, then it's surely illegal to sell them without a warning

Asbestos can commonly be found in Aperture Science Spheres, but other than that, it most likely doesn't contain asbestos.
BTW, what're you being for halloween?

I don't think they contain asbestos, but I heard that it was ineffective, but you're using it for halloween, so that probably doesn't matter.

Actually the whole mask, and even old fire suits, if they were genuine, would be LINED with the stuff. It's fire repellent.
