==Stylish buttons for your projects!!! (IMAGE AND SCRIPT TUTORIAL)==

THIS IS 100% NOT SPAM! I PROMISE!

Click here to see the project made using the following software. The buttons will blow you away!

Are you tired of the buttons in your project (such as "play" or "instructions") looking too boring? Well now you can step up your game with this new button creator software I found on the web. It's called "Button Shop 4" and it allows you to create and customize stunning/ stylish buttons. You get 10 free saves with the trial before they make you pay, but as long as you follow the following steps, you can keep the trial program without paying. No hacking or stealing serials required!

Just download the software for free HERE, and follow these easy steps. You can make stylish buttons for your project in no time!

STEP 1:
Create/customize your button using Button Shop 4.

STEP 2:
When you are finished creating your button, click CTRL+PRTSCN (control+printscreen).
==NOTE:==

Code:

I know that for different operating systems/computers, the print screen combination is different. I didn't realize that it was probably imperative that I include which buttons to press for each. Below is all of the known keys for each:

==For macs:==
MAC Key (funny looking key that looks a jack)
Control Key
Shift Key
F13 Key

==For XP:==
Control key
PrtScn key (F13)

NOTE: If I'm missing any information related to the above, please let me know so that I can include it.

STEP 3:
Open up ms paint and paste your copied image (which will be the button).

STEP 4:
Use the select tool in ms paint (upper right hand corner of the tools window) and create a box around your button. You don't have to make it too close to the button, just make sure the only thing inside it is your button and it's background.

STEP 5:
Right click inside the box. Click "Copy to..." then choose where you want to save your button. As a small tip, I would say to be sure to save your buttons in the same place, especially if you want to make a mouse over and mouse down costume for it.

STEP 6:
Open up Scratch and import/edit your new button, importing any mouse over or mouse down costumes with it.

STEP 7:
Now for the script. The basic script to make the button change costumes (make it look like it's doing something) would look like this:
http://i53.tinypic.com/abh7rn.jpg
You can edit this to make the button do whatever you want. Keep in mind that this script is very basic, and is only a template. Have fun! Happy scratching (:

Yeah, I'm not really that new to the forums, but I was contemplating where to put this tut for a good while before deciding for it to be put in misc. Haha n__n Thanks for reporting! I hope people see this. It's not one of those spam things that just want you to download stuff and then give you all kinds of viruses :b

Re: ==Stylish buttons for your projects!!! (IMAGE AND SCRIPT TUTORIAL)==

That's a lot of work just to get around a trial limitation. You could just use gimp or even the built in paint editor for your buttons, you don't need to download a program that doesn't work on my computer...

That's enough you two:

@TVflea: The next time you think someone is acting inappropriate, hit the report button and let a mod sort the problem out. (See this thread for more info).

@kayybee: Seems that Zparx put a lot of effort into this guide under the assumption that the program will download and install for everyone. If the program doesn't run on your computer, it doesn't make sense to attack Zparx for it and it would be better to ask for some Troubleshooting help on the problem.

With Button Shop 4, the trial limitation lets you keep the software until your tenth save. as long as you don't save your button (use ms paint to save it and add it to scratch), you should be able to keep it for as long as you like.

It's not the part that it doesn't work on my computer, I could make it work with tons of effort. I'm just saying that we could also use gimp or something...

There's nothing wrong with your tutorial, and I might as well delete my posts if you want.

I'm probably wrong. I don't use windows anyways.

All I know is Cmd+Shft+4. Space too, if you want.

It was originally in Miscellaneous, but most guides about design usually go in All About Scratch, so I moved it there.  smile
