Re: ITopic: New Members...introduce yourself here!

Hello people... So this past week my professor in my computer algorithms class told us about Scratch. I thought it was interesting and our professor challenged us to make a hangman game. I worked on it all weekend and I am quite happy with it. I have hopes to continue to improve it, especially adding sound to it. But enough about that....

As my name implies I am a mother of 10 children.. birthed everyone of them myself.  smile  I love my computer, and crocheting. I am not very happy with HP right now, as they refuse to fix the problem with 2 of our HP laptop's sound. (It occasionally works at start up but then stops.) Anyways, I have recently started attending college and am majoring in math and computer science. I may add a third of physics, but we will see.

How can I tell a friend how to find my newly uploaded project? I added tags, but when I do a search for it, my project does not pop up. I am very new to this. Today as I was finishing up my hangman project, I thought that I could make a spelling game for my kiddos to help them with their spelling words.

Hey, welcome to the Scratch Forums!  smile

Scratch uses a customized Google search engine (everything is really based off Google searches); it takes a while for Google to index newly uploaded projects so newly uploaded projects usually doesn't show up right away in a search. In the meantime, you can just give your friends a link to your project or a link to your userpage. Hope this helps.  smile

Hello, I am joining in an attemp to counter-act the Angry Birds, and other electronic noise that my kids engage in on video screens. I want to try this as a positive option to telling them "nO' to the video games. Any advice?

Heya, I'm new here, but I've already gotten an account before but then my internet crashed one day and I've forgotten when it was every since  tongue  So I'm "new here" sorry if my forum post is kinda weird, I'm not always too good with BBCode and that blocks things like that. If anybody could help me along? I would really appreciate it!

Re: ITopic: New Members...introduce yourself here!

I'm also needing some help with something, I really want to make a project, but I can't figure out how to make it work. I want the sprite to "follow" the mouse but I want it to be moving away from where the mouse is going to. I already know how to make the sprite follow the mouse but I want to make it so that when I move the mouse, the sprite is ALWAYS in front of it! Please help? Not sure if I'm supposed to be posting here or not sorry  tongue

I don't really understand what you're asking.  If you want the sprite to follow the mouse at a distance, I can help you with that.  Either way, you might want to check out the Scratch Wiki

There are several different ways.  One is to email a link to your friends.  Another is to create a thread in the Show and Tell forum about it.  Finally, you can embed the program in an email to your friends.  Just copy and paste the code into the email (I think).  If you ever have any questions about Scratch, just go to the Scratch Wiki.  If that doesn't answer any of your questions, post in the All About Scratch or FAQ forum

Wow, that sounds complicated.

Perhaps you'll have to use trig for this - hopefully you know how to use it well  wink

Re: ITopic: New Members...introduce yourself here!

Hi people, I'm not THAT new (I've been on for more than two weeks) but since my status is still "New Scratcher" I'll say hi.
i'm fungirl123. I mostly do games that take a while, and that are kind of girly. But I do have a couple of games that both boys and girls can play. I never do animations because my computer is old and is missing a sound card, so I can neither hear sound nor record sound.
I also make sprites for people. Since I'm pretty unknown, only one person has asked for some sprites. but if you need any, just ask.
.....This makes me want to make a project about myself. I'm going to go do that!!!!
Bye peeps!
