Okay, scratch team. Here's a crazty idea...
there can be video blocks.
you can like import MP4 and .mov and stuff and play those and can have basic volume and maybe effects like sepia and black and white
IT WILL TAKE MINIMAL TIME
what do I know? Scratch is Java, right? It must be hard. But everyone at MIT is insanely smart.

Well, actually, Scratch is based off of Squeak, and then the website uses a Java player to play projects (which is bound to change such that a Flash-based player will be used instead). ^^
Unfortunately, importing videos into Scratch is a suggestion that is likely not to happen. See #13 of this thread for more info.
