Welcome to the official forum thread for the critically acclaimed Harry Potter Video Game series by DIY. DIY Productions started making Harry Potter videogames in 2010, but the series planning and development has carried on all the way back from 2008. In Easter 2010, the first Harry Potter videogame was released, Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone – The Video Game, and has received over a hundred comments to date. This was a promising start to what would later become the very series that gained prominence for DIY Productions.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets – The Video Game was released later that Easter and for well over a year, it remained the most successful of the first three Harry Potter games. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban – The Video Game, released the next summer, carried on the immense success of its predecessor and even today is very close to the Chamber of Secrets in many aspects such as comments, love-its, etc.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire – The Video Game was scheduled for release in winter 2010, but intense last-minute testing to bring the audience as flawless a game as possible for its size meant the game’s release date was pushed to summer 2011. This was a year of painful waiting for the much anticipated fourth installment.
When it was released however, it seemed worth the long wait. All the hard work seemed to pay off in the end. It became the first of DIY’s games to be Front Paged and today has close to 750 comments. It gained a lot of praise and acclaim, winning multiple awards that are showcased on the project notes.
This is a brief chronology of the major Harry Potter Video Game events that have taken place over the years. The aim of this thread is to keep fans of the videogame series by DIY interested and excited about the upcoming games in the saga. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix – The Video Game’s release date has now been officially announced: It will be somewhere around summer 2013. The 3D graphics that make it look close to the original EA game is the primary reason for the huge delay, but do feel free to use this forum and talk about what you like about the game, your thoughts and possibly ideas for it. Helpful feedback is appreciated!

2011-11-05:
Since it's been a while since my Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - The Video Game (Prologue) was released, I've decided to make this a forum for progress updates on the game. Check this out to keep track of the progress made on this game...
2011-10-18:
The prologue to my Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix videogame is now officially out! You can view it here now.
Successor to the critically acclaimed Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - The Video Game, this one promises not to be a let down!
Unlike my previous games in the series, this game will have 3D graphics close to the real EA game plus background music and voices as can be seen in the prologue itself.
I urge people to press 'Love It' if you want me to make the full version of the game because due to my hectic school schedule, I may not find the time to do so.
Until the full version comes, enjoy!

Thanks! I have no doubt it'll turn out well too! You should wait for Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2 - Those will have fluid flow cut-scenes!

if you want to make a project bigger than 10MB, why not make it without compressing, put it in a zip file, upload to mediafile and put the download link in the project notes?

So...when you say 3d graphics close to the real EA game...you mean screenshots from the EA game compressed to fit online?
Yeah. I'm using screenshots from the real EA game and rendering some of my own sprites as well. Do be sure to check out my Order of the Phoenix prologue.

Hmm... I will upload a compressed version of the project on the Scratch website as it is a huge project but I may put a link to an uncompressed version on the project notes also which will be there as a zip file on my website.

Thanks, because I'd really like to play a larger, fuller version.
Sorry for taking out your website link, but I am still technically a new scratcher, so no url links in my posts :/
