Actually, the word "hard" comes from the term "hard liquor". Most drinks with the word "hard" in it means that there's some kind of hard liquor in it. "Hard lemonade" comes from the fact that the beverage is hard liquor with lemonade flavor. "Hard cola" is a cola-liquor mix.
Just avoid drinks that have the word "hard" in it before you end up accidentally drinking up an alcopop.
